There’s a new four-legged superstar in Fishers, Indiana — and she’s already become a pretty important part of her family.
Meet Rosie, a nearly 5-month-old mini Goldendoodle and our Yard Logs August 2026 Dog of the Month! 💚
With her beautiful dark red coat, sweet personality, and just enough mischief to keep everyone on their toes, Rosie caught our attention the moment we saw her. But after getting to know more about her story, we knew there was much more to Rosie than an adorable puppy face.
Finding Rosie
Rosie joined her family in May after they found her through a local breeder.
Choosing her name, however, required a little family negotiation.
With several possibilities on the table, Rosie was the only name that earned the approval of the family’s college-age kids. Her dark red coat helped seal the deal, and Rosie officially had her name.
Well…sort of.
Her name apparently changes depending on just how much trouble she’s causing.
When she’s behaving, Rose will do.
There’s also Rosie-cue.
And when the mischief really gets going?
That’s when Rosie-bomb makes an appearance. 😂
Life With Rosie
Rosie has only been with her family for about three months, but she’s wasted no time showing them exactly who she is.
She loves playing fetch and tug-of-war, taking long walks, and spending as much time as possible with her people. Give her a toy that bounces or squeaks and she’s happy.
Although lately, she’s expanded her definition of “toy.”
Socks and remote controls have apparently made the list.
And then there are the zoomies.
When the puppy energy hits, Rosie’s family gets a front-row seat to what can best be described as living-room parkour, with Rosie launching herself around the furniture.
She’s adventurous with her family but still finding her confidence around other dogs. Beneath all that puppy energy is an incredibly loving dog who simply wants to be close to her people.
Rosie’s First Trip to the Beach
One of the family’s favorite memories with Rosie happened during her first trip to the beach.
You might expect a puppy’s first beach day to mean charging into the water or racing up and down the shoreline.
Not Rosie.
She was perfectly happy hanging out under the umbrella and discovering something much more interesting:
Sand.
More specifically, digging in it.
And digging.
And digging some more.
Rosie’s family says she dug practically nonstop — and judging by the sandy nose in one of her photos, we’d say she took the assignment pretty seriously. 🏖️🐾
Bringing Joy Back Home
As funny as Rosie’s antics can be, there’s another side to her story that makes her especially meaningful to her family.
Earlier this year, their previous dog passed away.
Anyone who has loved a dog knows just how much their absence can change a home. A new dog doesn’t replace the one you’ve lost, but sometimes another set of paws comes along and helps bring joy back into the spaces that have felt a little too quiet.
For Rosie’s family, she’s done exactly that.
Her greatest strength is her love for them and her desire to always be nearby. In fact, they’re currently working on helping her become a little more independent because Rosie isn’t particularly fond of being away from her people.
But after only three months together, she’s already made an enormous impact.
As her family put it, Rosie has brought them so much joy and helped their family feel complete once again.
We think that’s something pretty special. 💚

From furniture parkour and stolen socks to beach excavations and an ever-growing collection of nicknames, Rosie has packed plenty of personality into her first few months.
But it’s the love she has for her family — and the love they’ve clearly found in her — that makes this little Fishers pup such a special addition to our Dog of the Month family.

We hope there are plenty of long walks, squeaky toys, beach days, and Rosie-bomb moments ahead.
